With armellini there won't be many docks...you unload from the street 90% of the time.

Either way...docks or off street unloading....it doesn't matter to me. I plan on making the best of it!!!!

Oh, my bad. Here's the answer to your question in you're previous post: Get the hell out of driving OTR for the big megas.
Personally, I'm working union; only way go. That's my better plan. Better pay, too.
Even so, matching 600 bucks a week is not a difficult thing to do, unless you live in an extreme rural area, in which case, you'd be better off delivering pizzas.
And you're right; I'm real sore! Sore in my backside from the royal shagging I got doing my time at Conway Truckload. And I almost never saw any driver there (regardless of experience) pulling in more than an average of 600 bucks a week.
And like I said before: go to those truck stops and speak with other drivers.
Notice how nobody else mentions that bit of advice? I wonder why?
And don't forget the three reasons why anyone would actually defend driving for the mega OTR companies:
1. Totally Ignorant
2. Total Denial
3. Person posting is actually writing false, positive information for the large companies with the expectation of some type of compensation. Keep 'em ignorant and prey upon their desperation; gotta keep replacing that mass exodus of drivers jumping ship. -
Don't say "the trucking industry" when you mean the mega carriers. Everyone has a problem with them, they're a necessary evil to weed out and train new drivers. Trucker college. Having to train and gain experience for a profession doesn't make it bad, lol.
Show me that pizza boy that brings home 600 dollars cash every week, lol.
As for unions, I think being in one when you need it is fine. I think people that will only take union work just scream out that they want to be paid equally or more for doing less work than other drivers. Have fun paying your union dues. -
You got a grate attitude gear jammer. I say no matter what happens your going to make it!gearjammer1978 and p34ch3s Thank this.

Hey I gotta think positive. I live in probably the worst areas for trucking companies, I have 30 days to find something before I may have to go back for a refresher at probably about a grand out of my pocket, the company I'm looking at wants to start me at .12 cents a mile and I can't say screw it to trucking because it would be like throwing away $4,000. I am anxious to get out there and start driving and I know eventually I will make good money. And I also am at the point of no return. Besides if I had a negative attitude with all those odds I would be a disaster and would have no business in a truck.

If all of trucking was unionized, driving might not be so bad. To get paid for everything we do out here would be awesome! There are drivers getting paid 25 cents or less per mile these days.. which we can all agree is crazy. If u have a family/ house/bills.. it is hard to stretch $600 a week for ur home life and ur life on the road unless u have a spouse or partner that brings in as much if not more. Im not am ooida member but I do agree with the saying say no to cheap frieght.. if only the mega carriers wouldnt undercut each other so much!
