At-fault accident while making turn?

In Connecticut, the fine would be reduced or the ticket would be tossed out if you simply appear before the prosecutor in their required plea bargaining session prior to the court date. I don't know if Louisiana works the same way but I would definitely appear in court. I don't see how much a lawyer could do for you in this instance as he would simply tell the judge what you are saying now. All a lawyer would do is cost you more money. Its a traffic court, not a criminal court. Your husband should consider installing cameras in his truck

 

You can do a written declaration to the court, explaining why you believe this was not your fault, but good luck with that.
Part of what we do for a living is watch you for the car that apparently does not know better, just part of the job.
