At least three dead and 15 hurt when semi rear-ends bus carrying students in Ohio

well from the news report you linked, there was an SUV directly behind the bus...after seeing the bus being towed away, i'm wondering if that SUV was jammed inside the rear of the bus, into the passenger area..???

but, actually hard to say, that red SUV could have been hit, and pushed out of the way on further impact.

 

That’s what it possibly looks like…it’ll be interesting to see what they find out about the cause of it though. The ntsb chairwoman stated something that traffic was somewhat stopped due to a previous accident that was being cleaned up when this one occured

 

The rumor of it being caused by someone doing a u turn has me wondering if it'd be worth it to put in like gates at those crossovers. Doesn't have to be anything serious, just like a bar or something. Could either give emergency vehicles/plows etc like a transponder that would open the gate to let them through or just make it swing but don't let the general public know so they don't make u turns.
