In my humble opinion, after lots of research, good starter companies are:

    Conway Freight
    Schneider Nat'l
    Roehl
Millis Transfer (but they only hire newbies who graduate from their school, so you can't apply until you have at least 1 yr exp)

    Avoid the ones mentioned above.

PS: There's a search box at the top of this forum page. Type any company name, and you will get numerous threads and reviews on that particular trucking co.

    Goodluck!

also avoid like the plague any company with a truck lease program it is a scam, it is a way to make money off you instead of off the freight....guys will have a bad week and end up owing the company money for the pleasure of driving a truck that is not actually or even sort of theirs. just read one post of a central refrig lease driver having to pay a $500 NON REFUNDABLE deposit to have a small dog on what they are being told is their truck! it is crazy. reasearch what you are getting into, there is a lot of money to be made in this industry, maybe not your first year, but it is possible to find a good company right off the bat and stick with them and enjoy it. Know what you want and research what is available until you find it. you are investing so much money in the training, and then investing all of your time in the job, and yet you are not even researching what you are actually getting into. some people probably research more what smart phone to buy than what company to sell their souls to, oops, i mean work for. Really try and put lots of time into finding what you are looking because if you dont those big companies will find what they are looking for... this is your life you are talking about, care about it because those big guys wont.
