In Michigan, WIA is about 2 years behind. Dunno what the lead-up time in FL is, but that could be the reason.

I applied for it last year in TN it was very quick and easy process on geting it done. The career coach was very good at getting things done I was debating on going into trucking or the IT filed well I went IT and wish I gone into trucking. The one week of class doesn't get you ready for the certs I was going for. i did get a low paying some what related to the filed job working for temp agencys. If I gone with trucking I would be almost donw with my first year in.

I went to apply for the WIA two months ago in California... my counselor wanted to review my resume and have me apply for different jobs that were coming available. I told her I was a displaced construction worker and wanted to go into the trucking field and use the money to pay for schooling... she flat out told me there was no money. Maybe some more money in July but she doubted it.
I got the feeling she would do everything she could to find me the job she wanted me to have. I had made up my mind what I wanted to do and she acted like it wasn't even an option to get money for training. Wouldn't even give me the apllication for the grant.
