I used to work in an AT&T call centre, and it was told to us over and over and over again that only 2% of "heavy data" users ever exceeded 2GB/month. That may have held true back when the original Iphone came out. I envy the american consumer and the choices they have, with the pricing that is there. In Canada, everything is way beyond normal(3 yr contracts, as an example)

Even with the five and ten gig plans it's not enough without paying an extra arm and leg. All the cell phone providers are going to keep pushing lower data limits and wonder why the federal government became more involved in their business because of consumer outcry. The cell phone providers will then go as the airlines and banks once the feds step in or otherwise go broke. -
I hear ya guys, but I can't complain in this dept.. I was one of the fortunate ones who got grandfathered in with unlimited data. (not rubbing it in, just saying) The crazy thing is that with my iPhone I have never even come close to using 2 gigs of data. But I also don't use my phone with things that suck up large amounts of data either. (just my phone habits) What I REALLY have an issue with is AT&T's reception!! Sometimes I can go into a random building and service is non-existent when other people are chatting away on their phones.. Bugs the heck out of me! Other than that I have no problems with AT&T like SO MANY others do. Customer service is always great to me and the reception problem is not that extreme that it disrupts my life. If I were a "business suit" guy, perhaps I would have had to switch carriers some time back. Those guys can't afford bad reception, missed calls or unable to send and receive email just because you walked into a doctors office or random building. Being a noob driver maybe I'll need better reception when I get out there.. we'll see.
