Just curious as to where or who we'd find out that sells #1?

There used to be stickers on the pumps but those haven't been around for years.

Antigel is cheap insurance though compared to a road call. Warm Texas that doesn't need treatment and ending the day in cold Wyoming.

I've had my bunk heaters quit working at 20*..when I had them.

There are some Kwik Trips in WI and MN with #1. And some Cenex’s and other small stops in Iowa sell #1. I agree with you though. I’d rather just use anti gel and know what I have rather than hunt specifically for #1 or trust big chains to treat their fuel. I trust Kwik Trip though — they’re pretty fluent with cold weather up in those parts lol

IMG_1296.png Sapp Bros locations with #1. Way more expensive than just doubling up on anti gel though. Would have to be extreme cold for multiple days to justify it, unless someone did 1/3 and 2/3 mix

There’s no need to run straight #1 if you’re not planning to shut your truck off in extreme cold. 70/30 or 50/50 blend is fine well below zero if your engine is running. The TundraMaxx at KT is 70/30.

If you’re doubling up on antigel you could just blend in #1 for the same cost and be better off.

This is exactly what I do. Less than zero I idle and I alternate fueling with #1 diesel and #2 when below zero. I live in Western SD so I know down south you can't find #1. This past Monday morning truck had been sitting all weekend (with batteries turned off) and truck started at -10. It was a hard start but it did start.

Very confidence inspiring to see a "review" where the competition ranks 5.4 on a 1-5 scale.

Probably including the wear scar size for lubrication which technically doesn't have a limit. I would trust his reviews to be without bias. At least knowing bias.

Many years ago it was -30 in Zion, Illinois and I just had the bunk heater which heated the coolant and set auto start. I got up in the morning, truck ran just fine and I continued on my way. The whole day I thought it was -17 but that's just how low the truck gauge goes before it stops.

Doubled up with Howes about 4 years ago. Gelled up anyhow. Tech said that too much anti gel kind of acts like thin barrier in the filter and the fuel can gel all the same. Not sure if true or not . ###### if you do - ###### if you don't.
