I have attached a orientation checklist that you can print, use, modify any way you want. This is just a list I did for myself a few years back so I would not forget something.

Also, on the second page of the list, I have my checklist of solo truck driver comforts that I like to use.

    Hope someone finds it useful...

Porto poti? I was wondering what truck drivers do if they drink a lot of water on the road or is at a truck stop at 3am and don't wanna walk all the way to the rest room......
sorry for my ignorance, but wouldn't it make ones truck smell like #####?

    Nicely done Gold Miner!

Mrcam, 'lil boys room located passenger side between drive tires / sleeper. If your pee shy, piss in the bottle it came from in private (dispose of properly!) If you don't wanna stop suggest a good pair of super trucker diapers or quart size Ziploc bags. <--- good luck w/ that!

lol yeah, I go between the tires depending where I am and how bad I need to go, sometimes you get on those nice long stretches with no truck stops or rest stops for another hour or more

and like he said dispose of the bottles properly, dont be like those sick truckers who just throw them on the ground for someone else to clean up, stick them in your trash bag and dump with your trash.

    Additions to list:

    Clothing (for cold weather):

    - Sweater
    - Warm coat
    - Rain jacket
    - Cold weather gloves
    - Knit hat
    - Long johns

Food - I'll leave the list for the individual. Just fundamentally if you want to survive and actually be able to save money (ie. have more money in the bank at the end of the week than when you started) then you must bring your own food and plan to buy food at Walmart or other grocery stores. Bring a thermos cup, thermos bottle, a tupperware bowl with lid, spoon, fork, knife, and can opener (a swiss army knife can serve for both knife and can opener). Trying to survive on training wages while eating truck stop food will have you living from paycheck to paycheck. Stocking the truck with healthier food can save a lot of money.

like I mentioned to others in another thread about cooking, portable butane stoves are awesome, I can cook, heat up water etc. I got my stove for $20 and the butane cans depending where you go are a couple bucks, my can is still almost full with 2 weeks of using it for a few minutes a night heating water and cans of stuff. I boil a couple cups of water within a minute or 2, heat a can of chili in water in less than 5 minutes.
