If no report or claim were filed inthe incident the only thing the company could put on your DAC is that you hadan incident. Which would be about the same as hitting a deer which normally theyattach an amount of damage to the truck and in some states the cost for removalof the dead deer.

One thing you can count on is that Hireright will take their own sweet timecorrecting the issue. In the meantime find a job anywhere you can so you canfeed your family and pay your bills. It once took me a year and a lawyer to getan issued resolved.

Luckily many companies are starting to realize that DAC reports are not veryaccurate. A DAC report also doesn’t meet U.S.D.O.T. and U.S.D.H.S. requirementsfor background checks. I found at my family company it has only caused ourHuman Resource Department personnel to become lazy in the investigation intodriver work history, driving experience, and criminal background checks. At theend of the month we are no long going to subscribe or report to Hirerightsservices.

Like I said before, you can contest it with HireRight and, they may take it off but, you won't know until you do.

It's still an accident. You still hit the guys truck. Two accidents less then a year they look at you. That your gonna cost them money for hitting things.

Don't be lazy! And don't try to punish yourself either, there's plenty of people that will try to do that for you.
File the grievance, it's only going to take you time and work, not money. Worst that can happen is it stays the same.

Seems unlikely a driver was driving around with a presumably "breakaway" (or folding) mirror damaged to that extent long enough to accumulate "old" rust and weather damage. Just playing devil's advocate, that story would immediately arouse my suspicions of its veracity.

I like your signature gpsman...there is/are no such thing as accidents. In the Military we call it negligence.

Write a letter to hireright and dispute what the truck company put there. Your letter will stay in your file. If the truck company doesn't respond to your letter, hireright is suppose to remove what the truck company said. If the truck company does respond and stands by their original entry, your letter remains in your file for other potential employers to see. This is the procedure that's been in place awhile, to protect drivers.

No need to write a letter. Just go to http://www.hireright.com/Disputes/ and file a dispute online.

If the company does not reply to the dispute they will remove it automatically. IF they do reply HireRight will way the dispute agents the information the company reply’s with.

If you equivocate the way you have on here (I thought I did until I thought I didn’t) you are not likely to get it removed.

Let's call them incidents. Anyone can have 1, the problem is after you have 1 the odds skyrocket you'll have another within a year, and that includes being involved any incident, regardless of fault. Most carriers will give you the first and expect you to learn from it. The second suggests a habit of not paying close enough attention.
