I've been a member for only a few weeks, but you've saved my butt a half dozen times already.
I read your comments here, then call the company & ask them if any of this is true. If they don't call me names & hang up, they usually stutter & stammer or they're stunned into silence. I then tell them "i'll need to assume that you're guilty as charged. Thank you for your honesty", & i hang up on them.
This has become a new hobby. I feel like diogenes in search of an honest man, & like him, i may die without ever finding him.trucker43 Thanks this. -
Barr-nunn stinks? That'a a real surprise! I was an o/o for them in 03-04 & they were fantastic with both company drivers & o/o's.
The only problem any of us had was their safety man, randy lipshitz. He had a Napoleon complex - little guy acting important to make himself feel bigger. He over-stepped his authority many times.
When i was there, Sturgis, the owner/prez, had an open door policy & he lived by it. His office door was never closed to his drivers. You could walk in, sit down just to say hello or to complain. He listened!!!
They had a policy for co. drivers living outside their trade lanes. The driver stays out 3 or 4 weeks & Barr-Nunn would pay half the fare on the quickest mode of transportation to get the driver home for 1 week.
One driver, at the time, lived in tacoma or seattle (my alzheimer is kicking in) & had been doing it for 16 years.
I thought he was a company secret until i heard a Barr-Nunn recruiter # the Petro in Scranton telling a group of drivers about the deal.
I'm very sorry to hear that Barr-Nunn has gone the way of lesser companies. That's a real tragedy for the industry. -
Aftershock
I like your tag # the bottom of your page. Dogmatist. You're one among too many in the trucking business. I joined the ranks a lifetime ago.
