I definately can understand where this fella is coming from. when i first started driving for an O/O leased to Roberts Express, I was teamed with a Native American Indian who had supposedly been driving for 20+ Yrs. I had only been driving approx 8 months at that time. The Owner had told me that i would learn lots of good stuff from this guy. Up to this point i had 100% on Time Pick-up & Delivery ratings. This guy stood 6'8" tall weighed 450lbs. I am 5'8" 150 lbs. On our 1st trip out he blew the air bag in the Passenger seat,he came out of the sleeper and plopped his FAT ### down in the seat and the air bag popped(sounded like a shot gun going off) Scared the beejeezus outta me. We were headed to down town Manhattan. We made our delivery. We were headed towards the GW Bridge. I saw the sign for the bridge and was gonna turn, he told me not to , to continue north. BIG MISTAKE !!! 1-1/2 hrs later after making numerous turns we were back at the original spot where i was gonna turn in the 1st place. We made our pick up in New Jersey, headed to Tennessee. I drove to Abingdon,Va and let him take over. We only had approx 100 miles to go and 4 hrs to our scheduled delivery window. (Our truck was equipped with a qualcomm satellite system) I proceeded to go to sleep. 5 hrs later i awoke and found out that we still hadnt made our delivery and he was lost. I asked him if he had used the qualcom to get ahold of dispatch, he replied no. He knew where he was going.(DONT THINK SO, otherwise we would have been there already) I sent dispatch a message asking for directions and proceeded to direct this ###### to the Consignee. By this time we had been in the truck for 4 days. He hadnt taken a shower ( This is in the Middle of December) he was starting to reek. His body odor was starting to really stink. We dead headed to Indy to meet another driver to CrossDock the load he had on going to Salt Lake City. We arrived in Indy with plenty of time to Eat,Shower and fuel. I went and took my shower, when i met Owen in the restaurant , i asked him how his shower was, he said ok, He was wearing the same clothes he was wearing B4 his shower... NASTY.. We proceeded to meet the other driver and do the crossdock load. Headed to SLC, woo-hoo fun fun.. NOT. We delivered on Time, Headed back east, I instructed Owen to get fuel before he left SLC, I proceeded to try and get some ZZZZs. I awoke 4 hrs later freezing, he was asleep over the steering wheel, truck was shut off. I woke him up and asked what was going on, he told me he had run out of fuel. I asked him if he had gotten fuel in SLC, he said no, he thought he had enough to get into Wyoming to the FLYING Hook on I-80. I asked him if he had tried to use the CB for any help? He said NO !! What a freakin IDIOT !! I was so pissed. I got on the radio and a West Bound truck picked me up and took me to the closest Truck Stop / 25 miles away. I paid a local guy $60 bucks to run me back to the truck with some diesel. When i got back to the truck FATAZZ was asleep in the sleeper. I proceeded to Take the filter off and prime it and put fuel in the tanks. Started it up and drove to the Flying Hook. Didnt even wake FATAZZ up. Called the owner and told him in no uncertain terms... " IT WAS EITHER ME or OWEN that was gonna get off the truck" I wasnt putting up with the BS any longer.." I thought i was gonna learn from his 20 yrs exp. I learned a lot of things from this RICHARD CRANIUM..
1st. How to get lost in the ROTTEN APPLE, Dont follow the signs
2nd.Dont use the Qualcomm, especially when your lost
3rd. Dont take showers, If you do, learn to wear the same clothes, it saves you money... You dont have to wash your clothes all that often
4th. Dont plan your fuel stops, just drive untill you run out of fuel..
5th. Dont use your CB, Just take a nap instead... eventually the situation will take care of itself

This was 1 of the many co-drivers i had, i could tell you many stories about co-drivers over the years.

Why is everyone so quick to run away with their tails tucked in between their legs? Okay, companies read information on this site. WHO CARES? If companies have the time to read a lousy trucking forum, then that means that A). No driver is sitting or waiting for freight, B). Revenues for the particular company are high.

For a company to waste time going through a trucking forum just to instigate trouble, then I have the following word of caution for all of you companies:

This trucking forum was created for the sole purpose of truck drivers to give their particular opinions and experiences that they may have with their past or current employer. This site also provides sometimes helpful insight for prospecting drivers looking to work at one of your establishments.

To read through these forums just to extract information and use it against one of your employees for an opportunity to terminate someone is not only unconstitutional, but immoral as well.

So, enough with the "Oh, Company ABC is watching what you post!" attempts at intimidation to shy away other drivers from speaking their thoughts and opinions. It's really sickening and really stupid. Kinda reminds me of Chinese censorship.

And if drivers have no one to talk to at their companies and use the internet forums as a medium to let off some steam, then what's the big deal?

    Don't Drive For This Company
I have heard a lot of things about a lot of company's, and this one is the worse. They are in no way trustworthy, and do things purposley to they're driver's that border on just straight meanness. they bring you in, start you out with good miles, and home time, then it all slips away. They're dispatchers are always trying to get you to run illegal, and when you tell them no they don't give you loads, and hang you out for long periods of time. so be warned, you drive for Star your career is basically over.

Who cares what difference it makes who, for whatever reason, reads what's posted in "lousy" truckin' forums? We're talkin' 'bout The Trucker's Reoprt here, ............ unless you're suggesting that TTR is a "lousy" truckin' forum.

The gentleman who owns this website has opined on several occasions that The Trucker's Report is what it is because of the folks who post here. Following that logic, to label this website "lousy" is inferring that the posters here are "lousy" also.
If that's what you think, I vehemently disagree with your assessment.

:biggrin_25511:[QUOTEbee wear of sheeps in wolfs clothing]I am from the inside company (DON'T RUN, REALLY) however I feel what is said here should be kept here, this is our freedom. Now I am sorry if I heard something about a killing threat/harm I would have to say something. However what you say here stay's here!
I am here soaly (sp?) to learn from you guys and to help drivers on logging, of course most don't want to believe me, however I know I did my job.

So please don't ever feel I would do "rat" you out!

I will warn you there is many office people that would do just that! I can guarantee you of that! So you should be leary, but you should feel free to say and do what you want as long as you have nothing to hide!

You should report any incidents, accidents etc.. If you report them the outcome might be better, if you don't report them it could cause your job. That's the bad part of "not reporting" it just looks bad on you & looks like you have something to hide. I know my company would not have fired this guy for his incident, but not reporting it he would get fired.
So just report it and get the training you need!

Don't run from me though, been here 1 year and honestly haven't even seen or heard anything about the company I work for yet. So it's not me, I AM NOT THE NARK:biggrin_25513:[/QUOTE]

The word "lousy" was used as a figure of speech out of anger towards dis-honest trucking companies. No intention of slamming the website in particular. Of course this is a good website. Why else would I log on every now and then to post opinions? If you were offended, then I apologize. I will be in the corner with a whip punishing myself for offending others.
