Last week, KLLM instituted a new company policy as follows:
This policy affects ONLY company drivers.
If you will be taking more than 5 consecutive days of hometime, you will be required to leave your truck at a company terminal/yard, clean all of your personal belongings out of it, and the company will have the right to assign your truck to another driver. Upon returning from hometime, you will be assigned a different truck. Same applies if you did not plan to take more than 5 consecutive days of hometime but, for whatever reason, your hometime exceeds the 5 consecutive days - You will be required to bring your truck to a company terminal/yard, clean it out, and the company will have the right to assign it to another driver. Again, you will be assigned a different truck upon returning.

Interesting that they put this out during the Christmas season when a lot of people aren't paying attention.

What sounds wrong? The policy or my comment.

rocknroll nik and xllxmrjohnxllx Thank this. -
The policy! *I know since I'm married to him!*
xllxmrjohnxllx Thanks this. -
It means KLLM is back to slip seating. Kind of not my problem as I just changed to a lease truck the week before.

What crappy deal.
So in other words, if you're planning to take your vacation time, plan on driving a different truck when you return? That really blows.xllxmrjohnxllx Thanks this. -
xllxmrjohnxllx Thanks this.

What's unfair? It is their truck. It's not making money sitting parked.
The policy is after 5 consecutive days off. So as long as you are available for dispatch on day 6, you are good to go.xllxmrjohnxllx Thanks this. -
And if you've been running for 3 or 4 months at a stretch, and would like a week long break? I usually run 2-4 months at a stretch and then take a week off. Compounded by being say living in Pa or Va or in my case Ar?
As I said moot question for me at this point.xllxmrjohnxllx Thanks this.
