My only complaint about the Frontier is the turning radius is not as good as it should be for a pickup that small and the steering is very stiff. The Ford, GMC and Dodge trucks I've owned all turned way tighter and easier than a Frontier.
Automakers wonder why their trucks aren’t selling??..it’s obvious

The stiff steering is a common complaint about the Frontier. I really didn’t notice it much on the test drive except when I put the truck in 4x4 mode.AModelCat Thanks this.

It really is.
I figure its cheaper to just maintain my stuff. Unless a rod decides to exit the chat there's no way you'll ever spend a grand a month in repairs.
In 2023 my daily needed some major work. Might have spent $3k at most but all the front end parts are new, brakes are new all the way around, new water pump and a few nickle and dime items. If I had someone else do the work I bet it would have cost around $6k. Even having someone else fix it I'd still be money ahead vs a vehicle payment.kemosabi49, mjd4277, Grumppy and 1 other person Thank this. -
thing is, in time, nickel and diming has to come to an end.
there will be a point of no return, no value, for what is being put into it.Last edited: Jan 20, 2024

stiff steering is handled by "power steering"
turning radius is handled by several tries......
i don't sweat the little stuff.mjd4277 Thanks this. -
And then they whine that they don't have money to buy a house.
A long time ago I disabused myself from the notion that my possessions were an extension of my worth and my self.
A car is a freekin car. If it gets you to work and back, you got the best one around. -
But it doesn't have to come with an $80k price tag.
I sold my Silverado for nearly what I paid for it new 4 years ago and bought a 2009 Ford Escape with 70k on the clock for $7k cash. I've never been happier or more satisfied.
The point is, yeah, you need a car. But no, it doesn't have to cost $1,000 a month.Gearjammin' Penguin, dwells40, Speedy356 and 4 others Thank this. -
I view a vehicle's value as its ability to get me from A to B. I've never worried about resale or trade-in value because by the time I'm done with it, the vehicle is worth $2500 at best. They're maintained and not clapped out but they're old enough and with enough miles that 98% of the population wouldn't consider buying it anyways.

unlike you, i buy/trade every few years, and have mine maintained by the dealerships.
being a former wrencher myself, and old, i prefer to have someone else get dirty, scrape thier knuckles, and bleed on the floor.
i'll take out the debit or credit card instead.Tb0n3, 2Tap, kemosabi49 and 2 others Thank this.
