You got that right. I'm in Florida, houses are nuts! Luckly, right now I have two, lol. Bought right as the prices were going up. Unluckily, I sold others while the market was down and missed the increase. So, comes and goes with real estate. The rest of it, up up up... taxes, insurance, food, it's all up. The more the gov gives out the high things get. There's a little (just a little) more to it than just supply and demand, but giving people money does increase demand.

Years ago my brothers brand new truck ate the camshaft due to the multi displacement junk . They gave him a work truck to use it was a vortec 4.3 with a 5 speed . He was on his second day before the fuel gauge moved that sucker did 28 mpg average for the weeks 750 miles . He darn near bought the courtesy truck from the dealer.. we need some plain Jane no frills trucks nowadays..

I’ve been delivering an awful lot of transmissions to Ford dealers lately. I haven’t seen anything like this since the winter of 2009 when it was so cold the things were breaking constantly.

After all, we certainly can’t be building cars anymore with manual trannies that actually don’t break. That’s simply not profitable.

Was it a GM or a Chrysler? I know the Chrysler Hemi engines with the MDS system have the dreaded “Hemi tick” and system is the culprit. It also affected Chargers and Challengers equipped with it. But the manual transmission vehicles didn’t have it,so they didn’t have that problem!

Ironically it seems to work just fine for Honda-the Civic is the last vehicle in their lineup that still offers a “wrist flicker”-depending on the trim level! And getting one takes more than a song and a dance!

In the US, what can you get new with a manual transmission? Jeep Gladiator and Jeep Wrangler but I don't know of any others.
When I bought my Tundra the only option I had, if I wanted a stick, was to buy one overseas and ship it to California. For what that would have cost I guess I can get used to the automatic.
