2004 international 9200i ZF Meritor freedomline automated transmission.

While driving and coming to a stop the transmission got stuck in gear. It lurched forward so hard I thought I was rear ended. I had to hold the brakes to stall the truck. I could smell the clutch burn pretty bad. Truck would not start after.

Towed it the shop. They have not been able to get it out of gear or start it up. They are not getting any fault codes. They advised me today that they need to drop transmission to replace the clutch but they can not gaurantee it will start as there may be more electrical issues.

Anybody with knowledge of this situation would be grateful appreciated.

Did they give solenoid on top of transmission a swat with hammer? Then see if it will shift
That was solution on many, solenoid was weak link

    DrDieselUSA and Manfrmbklyn23 Thank this.

My guess would be solenoid related also. They don’t always throw a code, but not getting the right pressure will make the solenoid do all kinds of strange things.

    Jazz1 and Manfrmbklyn23 Thank this.
