Automatic blood pressure monitors are trash! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Yeah just be careful what you buy or use. My wife has heart issues and her monitor for BP and HR are always spot on. Now I have no idea what brand it is.

No wonder it was high you were worried about what was crawling on the cuff!

 

Another thing to keep in mind when checking BP is to have your arm level with the heart....Take it with your arm much lower than your heart level (as many do in DR office) and it will run high....Raise it up higher and it'll run much lower...Bring it up level and it'll be accurate, try it....
