Sounds like the Eaton auto shift.
I had the same exact problem last week! Disconnecting the battery got me to a shop then it went belly up!
I was in a temporary truck while my other truck was getting work done....

Ended up the clutch was gone and problems with the air shift deal.

Pretty fast fix if the shop is used to the old Eaton setup. They dropped the trans and had a new clutch in buy the next afternoon.

    Mynewme45 and gerardo1961 Thank this.

    A few items:

1), Tranny's air regulator filter has funk inside it. (what year did u last change your air dryer cartridge)
2), One of the several Speed Sensors need replacing.
3), Power Cable for the a), transmission or b) trucks power cable coming from the alternator.

Each of those are cheap & easy. Do you want to wait it out for the diagnostics or experiment?

(Other items get pricey...dont know anything about ur equipment but more than likely its a inexpensive issue.)

After the Computers hooked up and the diagnostics done.

Myself, I recommend adding this to your work order: 1), replace the air dryer cartridge. When doing so, ask them to a), clean out the area where the cartridge screws to the housing.

2), Also, clean out the trannys air filter regulator.
(this u should do on ur own at least as often as changing your engines oil filter. Curious, have u ever noticed after a sudden stop then notice a delay with ur tranny shifting into gear, LED gear display blinks repeatedly before engaging. After, cleaning mine, i've noticed a quicker response.)

Replace air dryer cartridge once per year.
