Now you have to carry a avalanche beacon in Colorado while driving across the mountains so they can find you. Just watch out for when they start probing to see where you are, some use a bit of force.

Another big slide on vail pass with both directions closed, more storms will be coming so that is one area to avoid for a few months unless this global warming really kicks in. It is large amounts of heavy wet snow on a old corny snowpack so they start up high and make a new path to the valley, and in the front of those slides are broken trees, rocks and whatever other junk that it sweeps up.

You might be able to sneak by in between the storms, just stop in Grand Junction and check, more storms are in line for the next few days. Those avalanches are catching them by surprise so they are going in panic mode, they will close the roads down when it clears so they can shoot the canons up the hill. It is way above snowpack levels now and it all fell the last few weeks so they are heavy wet snow on top of the old old layers which are now like ball bearings.
