My preferred carrier is a "meat hauler". Hauling meat out of the TX panhandle and Dodge, KS to the eastern seaboard and backhauling back to TX or OK is some sweet work. 1 out of 10 runs might be to Southern Cal and back.

Average length of haul is around 1500 miles for me. Larger Carrier however and a training company so.there are other issues, bit miles are not one of them.

    Last.three runs, TX to IN, KY to.CA and CA.to.IA. thats 1200, 2500, and 1900

    Oh, It's Stevens and I am a solo.company driver. I don't lease and I.don't train.

My company varies week by week with length of haul, if your teaming sometimes they will give you a stretched out solo run of 1,000 miles and then they'll surprise you with a run of 2,500. Just depends on how the driver runs.

Refers still get lots of long hauls , cant put most of the stuff on a train. Dry van is nearly just a shag driver for the railroad and many short loads. I would assume flatbed still gets long hauls too unless they are lumber haulers or something like that.

I went from driving on average 4k miles a week monthly average as a solo 53' van expedite to being a dispatcher. What Ive learned since the transition is that the miles are available, but the drivers either dont want them or cant keep the log books straight and end up getting shut down for something as stupid as running all day without not even filling out the log. Try smaller outfits and show them you can handle it.

Yesterday, no miles (very rare). Today 549. Both days paid $200 each.

We have almost daily runs going from El Paso, TX to Southhaven, MS for Seimens electronics, York, PA for ProTrans International and to Centralia, MO for Hubbell Power Systems. Then we often get direct runs back to El Paso. All 3 of those accounts are drop and hook.

It would be 9-13 days if driving as a team across the U.S. That's counting the wait times
