Average length of haul

    For a company driver that miles equals money is the norm, then longer length is more desirable. For those that are getting various rates on loads, I prefer shorter hauls. I prefer to keep my runs in the 400-600 mile range. I turn a load each day and do far better overall. Plus I am by the house a couple of times a week and home each weekend. Have done far better on average for the last 12 years doing it that way than the previous 20 doing the longer nationwide type of stuff. Guess it just depends on what you are doing, how you are doing it, etc.
