Just had a call with a recruiter that said team company drivers can expect to average 4,000 to 4,500 weekly in the reefer division. That seems awful low to me, and some youtube videos are claiming 5,000 to 6,000. Is anyone out there doing this and what is your average?
Thanks in advance.

If that’s the average it’s poor .. 4000 is doable single but not in back to back weeks

I ran team for 3 years and he and I averaged around 5800 a week. And we were home 2 days a week, sometimes 3 if we chose to take it easy and take a 4500 mile week. We had weeks we ran 8200. Anything under 5000 for a team is pretty weak. There’s no reason a good team shouldn’t get 1300+ miles most days in the truck.

If it’s reefer though, you’ll almost certainly get less miles than running a van with the long wait times at produce sheds out west and the multi-stop picks. In the years I hauled reefer, most pickups were 1st come 1st serve, very few places had set appointments. Sometimes pickups were quick, sometimes 1 pick took a day. It’s a crapshoot.
Puppage Thanks this.
