Usually they’ll call within 1-3 business days. If they don’t call back you might have something disqualifying you or they’re not currently hiring. The good Carriers usually have certain hiring periods and don’t hire all the time usually when they have a couple trucks sitting with no driver. Not always that bad carrier but the carrier desperate for a meat in the seat will call back within the same day if you sent the application on a business day. Don’t overthink it give them a call sometimes your resume hasn’t made it to the desk yet.

I'm the guy that hires and fires in an unrelated industry, so take my comments with that in mind:
When I have a candidate apply, we do a background check, check references, qualifications, etc. to verify employment eligibility and this process can take 5-7 days. If the candidate doesn't call back, then the perception that the candidate is a "tire kicker" might be assumed (this industry is notorious for guys trying to up their wages) and that application will be put behind those that have made calls for a follow up. On the other hand, if a candidate calls everyday to check on the job and we want to hire them, then there's an indication that they are desperate and might settle for a lower salary.

    Just food for thought.
