Averitt Express= Was wondering why I haven't seen any postings....Good or Bad about this company?
Anyone have any input on them? Thinking of switching over to them. Any information would be appreciated.

    Very Political !!!
Hair , Veiws politically, Religion , Music , Arts , name it they have a policy.
Yet, they will pay no better than anyone else. And expect everything they can think of from the driver. Averitt will tell you what your log book should look like, reguardless of traffic , wheather , or accidents.
    Have fun , Charnock

I have been with a couple of companys and I find the Averitt terminals to be the best that I have been to.
I have been with Averitt for three yrs and I have gotten home every W/E so far.
I run FL, GA, TN, KY, AL and LA but not all 28.
Mi can be better but 2500 in 5 days is OK with me.
Sorry you had a bad experience with Averitt but I have had a great one.

    Hi guys,
Excuse the new noob here, but I'm so new I'm not even sure how to post!

I've been trying to decide which company that provides training I would like to go with. Schneider was ok, but 18 mo. commitment and 2 yrs. until you get $1000 extra paid in for school back is a bit much.
Roehl sounds really great too, but Driver Solutions uses the Lake Milton training school very near me and it would make things much easier. Averitt is one of thecompanies they recruit for and from what I have read isn't too bad. Question for you Averitt guys. I'm clean cut but you know, kind of the old hippe. I can shave Goatee, not a problem, I can wear uniform (eech) but not a problem, I can easily take out earring... but what about the tattoo on my forearm. Rather large, it ain't going anywhere, but it ends 3" above my wrist and with a long sleeve shirt is hidden. Is this a deal breaker? I find it hard to believe I've managed buisnesses, sold real estate and much else with no problem, but it would keep me from driving a friggin' truck? Come on. Please let me know whether to pursue working for this company or if I'm already counted out.
    Thanks:biggrin_2551:

Be careful. I recently drove for them and after three months when benefits kicked in, they really started to screw me on my pay. Averitt uses the HHG system, so be prepared to donate 10 to 12% of your actual miles back to Averitt. Occasionally "the system" will kick that up to over 20%, so pay attention. Also, getting detention or lay over pay out of them is very difficult. If you decide to give them a try, buy (yes you have to buy) the fewest uniforms possible.

My husband works there and if you don't like being home on the weekend and you can live with 2000 miles or less a week then it's your place.
They have good benefits but other than that the company is full of lies and deceptions. Believe about 50% of what you hear in orientation.
They have fleet managers( dispatchers) that will scream at you and treat you like dirt.
( and I can judge because I was one for 21 years)
The equipment looks nice but it's low grade and cheaply made.
