Does anyone know what the pay scale is with Averitt? I know they start experienced drivers at .40cpm but what are the increases and at what intervals? Also, do they pay you for their 4 day orientation?

They are local and I like what they have to offer. All the drivers I have spoken with have had good results with them and are very happy. I like that the company is concerned with their employees appearance and requires structure. It symbolizes professionalism.

Well they really only care about the freight. Nobody tells me how to shave, cut my hair and become a yes man. I drove for them for 2 years and couldn't take it anymore. I ran on the weekends instead of going home and when I quit J was making so little I drew unemployment.

I would say more but I am on mg phone. I hope the best for you. Please make a thread and keep it updated and you are paid for orientation. Also you will be doing another physical and make sure your card is right mine was all messed up.

Probably for the same reason you and I did; lack of proper research. It's pretty bad when a company treats a driver like he's on his way to the first day of kindergarten; "Here little darling, did you wash behind your ears, did you wear the right clothes, are your shoes shined." I wouldn't work there if it paid $1.00 a mile.
That structured environment is for military basic training, not a civilian truck driving job.

I appreciate your opinions but I like the discipline and structure they have to offer. You obviously don't which is fine. No company out there is perfect or otherwise no one would post on here and wouldn't be looking for other jobs to go to. I just asked for some simple info from from one of their current or past drivers. Again, there is nothing wrong with uniforms or being hygienic. If more companies were "selective" in their hiring process turnover would be lower. I'm certainly glad Averitt doesn't hire just anyone to hold a steering wheel. Please try to keep your comments professional and on topic.

Well buddy I hop the best for you but this is a public open forum. They hired me but I was smart enough to leave. There are quite a few other drivers on here who they did completely 100% wrong
