So your school was crap because they treated you like a new driver. You want to do minimal work and get paid. Why not just buy a lotto ticket each week and become a Walmart Greeter

    UPDATE

I talked to Dave the other day and we had a long and heart felt discussion about my experience. I want to update this post to let people know more of the story.

First, Dave was out sick the 2 1/2 weeks I attended IITR. It seems his staff let him down and Dave made some employee changes as a result. That was before I even had a chance to speak with him. He seemed genuinely disturbed by the new information that I shared as any small business owner would be.

Dave was pretty upset that I wrote this post but I had placed two calls to him and both were unanswered due to his illness. I was not aware of his illness and was only told by staff he was not in. As a result of this post, Dave did not honor the written agreement that I had with IITR to train me 1 on 1 with Jim McKinney after the class graduated. He stated I did not give him a chance to respond before writing this post. Again, that is not true. I made two phone calls to the office and stopped in and tried to speak to him but he was horribly sick and unable to come to work or speak on the phone from the sound of things. I don't think Dave knew I had attempted to reach out to him before he decided to breach the written agreement. I agreed to that agreement in exchange for not pressing the police for charges against a student that was touching people inappropriately, assaulting me, intimidating and making death threats. Sadly, he was allowed to graduate from IITR and for security reasons, I elected to finish 10 days later.

Dave did offer to think about sending me to one of his other locations to finish the last 1 1/2 weeks of training so I could get my CDL A and a job as a trucker. He stated he would think about it and offered to pay my motel bill at the other location. Time will tell if that offer is real but it is better than nothing.

And lastly I will say thins about IITR. If you are looking for a school, IITR is probably not a bad choice as long as Dave is there. I have no doubt if he were there, things would have been different but that was not my experience. If I am unable to finish at one of his other locations, I will be out months of lost income. I will update this thread and disclose the final outcome of this matter.

I will say thins about Dave Riggins, after talking to him for half an hour on he phone, I genuinely like him as a person and he really did seem like a decent person even if he has a tendency to play by his own rules. He is old school and there are not a lot of men like him out there anymore. My experience was probably not business as usual but it was my experience.

I hope Dave gets well soon and back to doing what does best and that is running his truck school and I get my CDL A. I'll let you know how it plays out in the end.

Lastly, as for the stupid hollow comments made by the functionally illiterate mouth breathers that give trucking a bad name, learn to read and write. Your baseless traduce only exposes the fact that your ignorance is matched only by your belligerence. People like you make me feel embarrassed to admit I am planning to switch careers from computers to trucking. Be a good representative of the industry that employes you as we all have to reap what you sow.
