I’m not sure you need a puller. How do you know it’s the wrong pitman? Isn’t that the old one? Timing marks are lined up. You may need to follow directions on pg. 35 of the manual. They explain the procedure to correct the problem.

You need to call the dealer, give them your vin. Get part numbers for the box and the pitman, compare to yours, before doing anything. The manual also covers removing the pitman if needed. It may have auto set poppets, if so the box should say AUTO right on it. Regardless, if the steering shaft on the box has been turned too far either way, they may need to be manually reset. Once that’s done, when you do the final adjustments to the axle stops, make sure you don’t over steer either way. In other words, turn stops out, so you have less turning radius. Then turn them in a very little amount at a time. Making sure the tires never get close enough to touch the frame, pitman or box itself. Left tire will usually hit the pitman itself, or the box itself, before anything. Once the left sides set. Measure the distance the stop bolt is backed out. Adjust the right stop bolt to the same length. Main thing is to avoid turning the box too far either way because the stop bolts are backed off too much,(turned in too much). It’s ok to turn them in to increase radius, but any time you back them out to decrease radius, they need to be manually reset, according to the manual. Once the stops are manually adjusted properly, then you set the auto poppets setting by turning wheel back and forth. Holding it against each stop for a second or two. It’s all in the manual. Someone must have turned the box too far one way, and got the poppets out of whack. Just my opinion, based on what I read when doing mine, and what’s in the manual posted. I didn’t have to manually adjust poppets myself. Really don’t understand how they even work. Maybe someone with experience doing it can help explain better.

Ok. The correct puller arrived. popped the pitman arm off in 15 seconds. I found that if I placed the timing mark at about 1 oclock, and with the wheels straight, placed the pitman arm at 12 o’clock, i have the same turns left and right. So that is good news. Bad news is, what I thought was a rotted line dripping oil, is actually the seal on the back of the box. Stinks, these things way a ton. But I’ll fix the seals and reinstall. But we will be back in business. I’ll contact Goodysnap once back on and see if I need to do anything with the poppets. Thanks for all your help!! I really appreciate it!

There is a procedure in the manual for resetting the auto stops on page 36.
I'm fairly certain you will need to reset them and then go through the setting procedure.
    Glad you figured it out!
