My rear axle temp seems to be a bit high, but then again I do not know what normal temp reading should be?
Air temp is about 95* outside and I am hauling a bulk tank with 4,500 lbs of product.
Fwd rear axle shows 150*
Rear rear axle shows 175*
Axle Temp question....

back rear will run a little hotter because it doesn't get as much air as the front.......buddy of mine has an international with the funky exaust underneath and the pipe got a hole in it blowing the exhaust on the front rear and his temp went up 50 degrees .... replaced the pipe temp went right back down

I had a transmission run hot from being a little low on oil a few years ago. The difference between being able to touch the oil with the tip of my finger and being full enough to run out the hole was about 40 degrees on the temp gauge.
SHC Thanks this.
