Hello fellow drivers, I've been on this trucking tip and it's been 6 years now.
Weather now has been really bad and I was passing by Longlac ONTARIO.
When I parked for a sec and tried to restart the truck, it wouldn't start.
So I had to tow... and ended up at this place called Ray & Doris truck stop.
The guy at the repair told me it would take them a night to touch my truck.
So I stayed at a motel and next morning I went.
They told me the diesel crystallized... and the owner had 350 L of diesel all taken out....
The owner was saying that my truck would stop in 20 miles if he had put the diesel back in my truck.
But since I'm an owner operator, I told him it would be my responsibility and told him to put the diesel back again.
He just wouldn't do it and this ****** said that I had 2 choices. Either I drive the truck out myself (no fuel in it... wtf?) or he would use his tow truck to take it out of his shop...
They said that there was a problem in Shell's diesel and now I'm trying to reach out to Shell....
I am really confused and want your opinion on it because I know a lot of experienced Sirs out here.
Could there been a problem in the fuel or is the owner of the repair shop just trying to thieve my fuel?
What should I do now....
Fellow brothers and sisters , help
--Guy trying to survive this world with truck , lone wolf
Az owner operator , help me please

I don't buy it. The fuel sold in Canada through the winter months in already blended and you should never have to add additives for cold weather operation. That being said, if a truck stop was selling fuel that was not up to par for the cold weather up there, you would not be the only truck having these problems. Also, it sounds like your truck lost it's prime when you shut it off. When fuel gels, you slowly loose power until it finally just cuts out. It is not running great, then all of a sudden, oh, you're stopping ... right now. To add to that, even if it was gelling/crystallizing, he could of added some form of fuel treatment rather than just leaving you to drive with zero fuel. If you told him to put your fuel back in, he should have done it. You could have told him that if it quits again in 20 miles, then you will call him again for another tow. Either that, or tell him you are deducting 350 L x price of fuel .... no matter what way you cut it, it is ugly ...

Where (geographically) did you purchase your fuel? If it had crystallized/gelled, did he replace the fuel filters? Power Service has a product called Diesel 911 that you can add to a tank of fuel to help resolve gelling issues in fuel. Not sure what he would have done with the fuel, unless he put it directly into his tow truck...

I dont understand why he cant bill you for tow and removal of fuel.Help you get it started and out of his shop.
What is exactly he wants to do and bill you for? -
That's you're fuel you paid for it. No way would I let him keep it. How did they store it,barrels, tank? Have looked at the fuel?
