let me say I just rode me hd from phoenix to laughlin on wed. I counted 5 trucks pulled over by the dot cops 225miles. and many more on the road, and at the truck stops in kingman az. I ride this route all the time and I never see that many out on the road. i went to the forum here just to see if there was anybody out there posting about this..anyhow they are out in force, "watchout" the state needs revenue.......stay clean....

Per interpretation by the DOT officer knocking on your driver door at 0200...
I always get into the co-driver side when DOT does that....
You should know a rookie DOT with something to prove, will nail you're azzhat for something as trivial as answering the left door when you're on your "10" -
Cali's doing the same as CO and UT.....
It's called "Commercial Vehicle Law Enforcement" for a reason.... -
I'm just saying you're in the wrong forum and should be in the Truckers and Politics forum. Not that hard to understand.

Boy I'm glad I piggy-pack, in a motel every night and new trucks. We do get checked for our temporary mud flaps, I haven't been written-up, but I know many of our drivers who don't check the length to make sure they are ok have been written up.

Sometime when you are on a dark road, rainy and a vehicle without lights and reflectors on the side of the road, just see how good the vision is.
There are a reason reflectors are put on the back of trucks.
But then again, safety is not everyone's concern as proof in this thread.Pur48Ted Thanks this. -
I rember one time when i sitting in ot class at this one trucking job i was gonna get, this teacher was telling about lights and tape, he told us the lady upstairs was killed by tape, this the way he told it, she was heading home on 41 in wis from the terminal, she thought she saw the overhead bridge a mile ahead in her lights, yes this was at night , didnt think nothen about it, but in fact what it was ,was a tractor trl doing a u turn in middel of road and the time she was upon it , she t-bone the trl , slip the roof off , head and all , this what the hy-way patrol figure out, i dont know if true or night as told by the teacher wether or not a scare tatic or not , i dont know, i just treated like the cb , only in half truth,
Everett.

You could sit in the drivers seat for a week if you wanted to and not have to "change you duty status"...There is NO RULE that says where you can or can't sit in your truck when you are off duty!
No....They won't!
There is no rule pertainig to where you sit in your truck on your off time.
I would LOVE to have a cop try to write that ticket! -
Better yet, I'd love for "WCP" to post the link to the "green book" that indicates this nonsense.
