The State of Arizona is adding 100 camera's to the highways by Jan. 2009. They will start installing them in Sept. 2008. Those who go over 10 mph will be ticketed.
The report says that people believe this is an unfair way for the government to drum up revenue. I too, believe that this is what the government is doing.
About a year ago the government added, just a few cameras to the 101 fwy as just a test trial. Then they decieded to keep them. Then another area decieded to use cameras. Now the state is adding even more. How far will this go.
It wasn't enough to create a lottery to bleed the public. What's next.
AZ will add 100 cameras to catch speeders

This is the begining of the end..
They have done that here, and in brittian.. Big brother is watching with his hand at your pocket. -
Ya, congress finally let states go forward with it... it's a revenue issue and not a safety one.. Less cops they will need to have patrol and more speeders being busted, without a chance to face a human in court but a pic...Muleskinner Thanks this. -
I do know about England. They have cameras on the general public, just walking around on the streets. Hundreds of thousands of cameras. This is crazy.
They support the idea by crying about terroist and theives. The very government that puts up the cameras has allow the terroist, and theiving problem, population into their country; in some kind of distorted, perverted, freaked out, rediculous sense of freedom and democracy. Madness, sheer %&^*%$# madness.

Muleskinner Thanks this. -
While I'm not real keen on the idea of photo radar, I do think that if you're dumb enough to get the ticket, you probably deserved it. AZ law requires that signage be posted prior to the location of the photo device, advising drivers of it's operation. If you aren't paying enough attention to read the signs, and you get snapped driving 10+ over the posted limit, you have no business complaining about it.

It's good to know AZ is atleast putting up warning signs for the carmera's. I gotta wonder how long that will last.

People who complain about the radar cameras are barking up the wrong tree about revenue. They just don't like the odds are going up that they'll be caught doing something wrong. -

Normally I agree with you Biker, not on this one. It's a money game is all it is.Red light cameras installed at a intersection well known for deadly collisions would be a safety issue...this is a revenue issue 100% IMO.

You didn't answer my question, though.. What's the difference between getting caught by a camera or a police officer?
