No, these days its "Investment Funds" snapping up residential homes and developments as fast as they can, dress them up cheap, jack the rent bigtime, to get their big bonuses for the investment returns they're gonna get.
Turning home ownership into rentals with 3 or 4 or 5 tenants so they can make that big rent, each with a vehicle or two, and parking for 2.
Who's outbidding you by tens of thousands of dollars for that home of your dreams? A hedge fundLast edited: Oct 17, 2021

this is true in many old cities, like mine. many houses were built in the early/late 1800's like mine, and you'd be lucky to even have a backyard, let alone parking.
here, my city charges you $100 a year for street parking.
of course, side swipes, hit and runs, break-ins are also a part of that scenario.....LoboSolo Thanks this. -
In even newer cities, houses were built with a 1 or 2 car garage, and the idea the street would be clear at night for things like garbage trucks and snow plows. Now, even nice areas look like heck with the streets lined with parked cars at night.
