Even with something like that, you can only maintain the needed 3 points of contact while exiting the cab. So how does it help. But I can see it causing a major problem in an accident situation if a driver needed to be pulled from the cab.
Just passing by, singlescrewshaker and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
Next will be a pullout ramp. Similar to the uhaul trucks, under the driver's door, with a hand rail. Haha
What do they recommend for coe. Flip gate with a rope ladder, haha.
I wouldn't want any contraption making less room by my pedals.
I can see that handle making it harder to get in and out. Restricting your leg movement.
They could mount the hand hold on the door.Just passing by Thanks this. -
Don't wanna post this video but have seen two years old boy fells head down from the truck when stupid parents open the door.

I see it as one more tripping hazard to deal with. You forget it's there, open the door, get your legs trapped and dive nose first onto the pee drenched parking lot.
singlescrewshaker, D.Tibbitt and xsetra Thank this. -
How about an inflatable ramp that deploys automatically when the drivers door is opened, similar to the ones used to evacuate jets in an emergency?
Just passing by and singlescrewshaker Thank this. -
Why are they bothering? I heard self driving trucks are right around the corner...
Just passing by, ZVar, singlescrewshaker and 1 other person Thank this. -
I'm failing to see what the point is??????
God prefers Diesels, D.Tibbitt and gentleroger Thank this.
