The school is $5995 in total. But I only will be paying $550 out of pocket in the rest will be finance. Thru Prime it would be a lot cheaper and easier process to get your CDL. Now the plan that you told me might now work because Prime wouldn't even hire me. You need to complete a school first based on what a recruiter told me before.

Yea your right I cant because I only have a CDL permit in hand, not the license. Might stick with the plan with coming to Prime instead. I just thought that if I finished school on my own and come in with a CDL I thought training would be shorter for me.

It really isn't. Plus, your out of pocket cost is only what you spend on the road before being hired plus fees, if you stay a year past going A-seat solo qualified.

Nope. Without six months of recent class A driving experience, you are going to put in 40,000 training miles.

The only way to skip the training is if you have those six months of verifiable experience.

Save your money; get the (better) Prime training.

Probably meant you need to complete the Prime school and get your cdl before your technically hired.

If I had to do it again, I would have gone to Prime and done the PSD. I shelled out the money and now I'm thinking about how I could have used that during training to supplement my income. Hindsight is 20/20. At the same point, I didn't know about Prime, PSD, or TnT at the time. The fact that I had never backed up a trailer larger than a single axle Tractor Supply jobber made me not even think about looking into applying with a carrier before I had my CDL.

Well I really thought about, I rather attend Prime training program. Im staying more than a year with them anyway, I don't know If I will move on because you never know what situation might come up, but for my plans for the future I don't think I will be moving on. I did more research on Prime and I think that their school is a better way to learn and get your CDL. If I go on my own, it will cost me more anyway and I might not even learn as much as I would thru Prime. I will be coming in soon, getting my things ready. I think everything will go out okay because I don't know what else could hold me back. Thanks for the advices. Hope to see some of ya drivers out on the road. Drive safe

Your bags for everything should be soft-sided like a duffle bag. Don't forget some shower clogs unless you're really looking forward to death by athelete's foot!
