Your backs are actually healing. That was another concern I had as I was contemplating becoming a trucker. May I ask which truck you drive? Perhaps not all trucking seats are made equal. I read somewhere that as long as you have good posture and lean back on your seat you'll be ok. But I also read that since truck seats vibrate it does more harm than if you were just sitting on it.

From what I understand I drive the lowest of the low - a Columbia class FREIGHTLINER.

In another life I was a concrete finisher. In construction it is heave ho all day long. Think of someone one standing on a production line except outside in the weather on broken ground. Most back injuries are caused because of the lack of skeletal muscle tone through the bodies core muscle structure - the stomach muscles hold the back together.

use Olive Oil, taken in the diet such as salad dressing + use ice with some heat and sleep on a flat wood surface with minimal padding, go barefoot as often as can do such as jogging barefoot as contemporary shoes are actually the cause of most back problems....

I have been doing this for decades and no longer suffer .....

i want to get into trucking after losing my welding job of 15 years.my back pain has been a concern for me as i blew out a couple discs a few years ago.i figure its got to be better than working with heavy steel, all the bending and stooping and the contorted posistions that a welder has to be able to do.im 50 years old and im just burned out on all that and my body is as well.i just dont know what sitting for 11 hrs a day will be like for me.i guess there is only one way to find out right? lol any thoughts1?

He is suggesting when we have time off.when i start my trucking couple of weeks before after quitting my fatory job when i sleep on sleeper when truck was viberating my lower back and neck was feeling comfortable. It looks to me as if it is same as my physio was giving me viberating muscle releving treatment. In a factory i work on automotive line and have to pick up 40-50 lbs parts X 600 pcs ==2400 lbs everyday. So if i have to struggle in this job in begnning i will still be ok from these heavy lifting back discomforts.

Thank you for this information. What should you do to develop the lack of skeletal muscle tone through the body's core muscle structure? Curl ups?

One detail that you're overlooking.... while you're "sitting" you have your arms stretched out in front of you to some degree; and at least one leg. Not the "classic sit" posture.

some people might also be mistaking back pain for spastic colon.

Especially if you "think" you have back spasms.
