Being desperate could lead you in the wrong direction...seems like a lot of companies prey on desperation. Do you currently hold a CDL A?

I just got my permit here in Cali, a week ago. But I have 6 yrs former driving experience. the problem is I have a felony that's 10yrs old. Getting my full CDL is pretty easy. Just spend another 900.00 at a school so I can pass the driving test.

I took the test for the first time since 1991 and passed the darn thing. Couldn't believe it.

A 10 year old felony shouldn't be a problem. Very few companies care about a felony that old.

You still need to get the CDL though; that permit is only good for some companies like Prime that put you through their training program. Get the full CDL and you'll have lots of options.

Fuffster being being in beautiful So-Cal you have many options. (It's a trucking hotspot) Look at KKW, Swift, US Xpress, Knight, Interstate Distributor, all better options than Western Express or CR England.

    Fuffster Thanks this.

Swift just put me through the ringer for about a week. But I think it looks pretty good. Recruiter said they look at everything. Not just the felony. He said at this point I have about a 70-30 chance. I guess it's better that being kicked to the curb the day I filled out the app. And im sure there are worse company's than swift. Actually the company I applied to is called Central Refridgerated. I think it's a sister company of Swift. Any, I was never more happy in my life than when I was driving that truck. And then I was working for Knight Trans. Not a bad company. they were pretty good to me. Thanks for all your advise and support.

One last thing about the felony issue. Please remember everyone. Not everybody that has a felony on their record is a monster. Every once and awhile a good person can make a mistake. And as long as they learn from that mistake and don't repeat it. They should be givin the chance to get their life back.

Yeah Swift is not that bad of a place, at least just to get your feet wet. Just curious, Knight wouldn't take you back?

    I agree.
