Ta's always had salad and fruit buffets. It wasnt till they started building new ones a few years ago that the sit down restaurants got replaced with Popeyes fast food garbage.

Its sad too that they did that and then we have the health compliance on top. Fast food not health, truck stops need to go back to better food options.
We just came out of IL, there a TA in Morris with a great restaurant in it. It's called R Place not much of a salad bar. But Friday is all you can eat fish and their chicken pot pie is the best I have had anywhere.
But I am glad things are finally going good for you UTurngirl. You had a rough start.

As you know I was out of trucking for 3 years. Before that I was running a southern dedicated where I knew every stop by rote. So I'm experiencing a little shock at how many more trucks ...and exponentially more idiots... On the road. Truck stops that seemed enormous before are filled to overflowing by 18:00 and places that used to be truck friendly..walmart esp. have become downright hostile. Truck stop stuff costs more too. The job is getting harder. Rates are a little higher but imo ought to be a lotta higher.
Basically I want to say wow! at how gosh darn many truckers are on the road right now.
    Wow! There. I said it.

Not any more. JB calls it the great 28. Not sure what that means exactly but mostly I run Midwest and Southeast. I'm heading for Maryland now and from there to Kentucky. I live in Texas and I have to bang the pots and pans to get a load there because they show me as running out of Arkansas. Go figure..

Speaking of Texas..did run by the house long enough to drop the dogs off with my daughter so she could take them in for annual shots plus get their teeth cleaned. Now I have ghost puppies in the truck. Still expect to have them bugging me every time I stop or put a bite of food in my mouth. I miss them so much but I also realize how much time they demand. And how much of the bunk they take up!

When I drove for JB about a 1000 years ago, I did the "Southwest 6"

Which was comprised of 8 western states.

Which meant mostly bringing the monster paper rolls from Oregon / Washington to the communist state.

4 rolls were 44,000 pounds lol.

How is the lease going? Currently company driving in the hole i know you know how it is in the north east. What should I expect as a jb leaser? Still worth it? How much are you bringing in per week. God I hate these loads. Virginia mountains and their trucks are throttled not to climb. But at least as LP I dont think they are throttled. Just made it to illinois tonight been to this same spot 3 times so far
