Thx for the info. Guy is partly right $1400 isnt really worth it but like you said youre in it so theres really no out at this point. The $2000 weeks would make up for it. I am at 10 months experience and make about 1k after taxes. But to make double some weeks would be worth it imo. Im not using any of the benefits guy has said the company offers. Health insurance is a scam I really hope you don't pay 1200 a month lol. 401k would be nice but im only 2 months in with jb and dont plan on being a company driver lifer. So ive looked and looked... scheider and landstar look promising.... landstar would be more money but schneider would be easier and possibly a 1 year lease. Im not going with jb they can kma because forget being 45k lbs going through these mountains!! Again thanks for the info. I do like jb though wish their lease was better. Ill probably actually do jb for another 3 months and save as much as I can and maybe do a 1 year scheider lease after that. Then its hopefully o/o in a new or newer financed truck. Or by then ill have 30 months experience and go to Walmart friggin .86 cents company driver. But even then my heart is on picking my own loads and making that o/o money. Long road ahead. Im impressed you did two darts and are on your third lease pretty cool.

Until you really need it! Ever try to get health insurance after you have a preexisting condition?

Besides that, its required by law. But even before it was law i carried it. My wife had an attorneys out anout 5 years ago. Paid about 4k out of pocket, would of been over 25k. And that's cheap compared to the birth of our last child.

I miss the days before obama care. Had much better insurance for half what i pay now.

True you didnt use the word average. But you alluded to it when you stated half the drivers in the nation make under 45k.

I love how freight haulers complain about hauling 45k pounds through some hills.

Half is called a median ... not the same as average. Same with the 90% ... That's a percentile.

Plain fact of the matter is that only 1 in 10 drivers make more than $64k.

Now as to the reason why ... Maybe it's becuase most jobs don't pay ... Or it could be due to nature of the way we get paid ... It's piece work. Those who know how to hustle get paid, even at a mega. If you don't hustle you get crumbs and most people would rather put in the effort to whine about getting crumbs, than put in the effort to hustle.

You only asked for my experience. Now I'm going to offer my advice. I think you are looking at leasing too early in your career. I stayed with my first driving job (schneider) for 3 years and only quit because they were not doing me right on miles. You need a better incentive to lease than $400 a week. Plus if you are netting $1000 a week and not meeting your bills you maybe should look at your budgeting skills. Just my 2 cents worth. Keep us posted on what you do decide. I would watch your thread if you start one. Let us know.

It's tire week. Every trailer I picked up needed a tire. JB retreads plus low air..I mean why air up trailer tires if you know you're going to dump it on the next driver picking up?
Icing on cake..picked up a nail in one of my drive tires. Good news. Loves only charged $45 to fix it. Hope the plug holds. Its a nice Bridgestone with plenty of tread.
