Yes he is. I drove around it today. 9 months ago I was evacuated a half a dozen times for the Santa Barbara fire. This smoke jumpers and hot shots, and firemen are hero’s. I always laugh when nothing bad happens for awhile and people complain about what those guys/gals get paid. Then disaster strikes and people shut up and remember when we’re running away they’re running into it.

 

I live inAnderson just south of Redding and it’s hot and smoky and nasty here.

We get this also on my sandbar. #### Yankee's don't seem to understand...if it was so awesome where you live why did you move here? We like not being the same as others and if we wanted be like your big fancy city...we would be. Clearly we like being a bunch of "Beach bumpkins" as I think was the term used by a fella who couldn't grasp we don't have clubs, or huge malls, or box stores.

Resurrecting the honey thing kind of...My wife hates this also. Especially car dealers. We went to look at vehicles last year or so. So the car guy...will only talk to me. She is the one asking questions, doing the looking, etc. I'm doing nothing. Man she got pissed. She'd ask a question then he would turn an answer...to me. lol. She was going to pull the trigger on a vehicle an said screw it an walked out. She told the sales guy why. I Even told the guy..."Dude, she's buying the car, not me. I'm just here cause I have to be. I got no dog in this fight so talk to her, not me.". Protip - Don't piss off a redhead.

I use darling all the time. It's southern thing. Ma'am to. I always get the "I'm to young to be called ma'am". I don't use it to talk down to a woman though. Ladies can call me sweetie, honey, whatever. I don't mind. I've been called far worse. I get it tho from a woman's point of view. My wife hates being talked down to or ignored by mechanics/sales people, etc.
