Hopefully not on bail...family can be quite...trying at times.

I say the same thing in regards to drinking anytime I'm with family for longer then oh...4 hours.

Next sometime in gonna be good I swear.
Tips for truck service getting ready for winter please? My batteries seem iffy. 112000 miles. Does that seem normal? Any other specifics?
And yes. Will bite the bullet and get clutch brake looked at. I'm scared they will try to sell me more than I need so I'm nursing the darn thing..oh so gentle instead of %;:## take those you stubborn mule.

My boss has fixed cranky clutch brake without pulling transmission, with flexible disc that can be slipped over transmission shaft . Disc are cut at one end /side so they can be twisted open and slipped over shaft.

Batteries need to be load tested,no other way to tell what kind of shape they’re in. Now is a good time to swing by Walmart and pick up extra wiper blades, washer fluid etc.

112k seems early for batteries but we put hellacious loads on them anymore. 062 is right though. The only way to tell is to load test them. I usually run them till they smell like rotten eggs. When that happens buy a new set.

our company mechanic changed the clutch brake in 45 minutes in the pilot parking lot
he said they were getting killed with all the clutch brake jobs because almost no one knows who to protect the clutch brake and dont know the eaton auto shift has a clutch brake also

As I recall you were up in snow with the bulldog last winter.

You're a veteran winter driver now, you should be teaching the class.

You have to give back you know.

Does JB still have a "no chain" policy?

JB has a no go rule if there is actual ice. I don't need a policy to make that decision for me.

I don't know about JB chain policy. I haven't used chains in all my travels. Even though I've carried them where required.

I drive in the snowy cruddy because I must and can. Simple rules. Take it easy. No sudden moves.

If the road is fixing to close I need a really good reason to go there anyway. I admit to having them close the gates behind me as I slip through. A spooky feeling.

I use howes anti gel in diesel and idle below 20°. Probably be idling a lot more this winter because no auxiliary bunk heater in this rig.

My question is about preparing truck mechanically for winter. Lets see...good tires. Strong batteries. New and extra wiper blades. Plenty of lo temp washer fluid.

That's all I know. Is there the equivalent of a "tune up" I should ask for to prepare? What about def? They tell me idling fouls that mess. What's a girl to do?

Southern lanes are just a sweet dream...

Practice putting your chains on where it's nice once or twice. ALL your chains.

Your DEF didn't freeze last winter, why would it freeze this winter?
