I mean like recently. Can you qualify for Landstar? I'll buy another truck and you can come here. You'll never see the northeast again.
I'll dispatch you, or you can yourself if you're comfortable with it.
I'm serious as a heart attack.

There are lemon trucks, that truck having 300K should have lasted longer with less issues. You also don't have anyone to help with repairs, that hurts, I think you're paying three or four thousand for what I might pay a thousand for.

I'll get a truck exactly like mine and put it on if you can qualify. You can buy the truck from me if you want, or just save your money until you can get one.

    No collision management. Not governed.

Like I said, I'm serious as a heart attack. PM me if you're interested.

I'm not obvective here, I bought a dt12 with my ( borrowed) money as I reckoned it would save money. I wouldn't change back to a manual, neither would most people who have enough driving experience to judge and who have driven one a few months. It may or may not be a costly boat anchor when the warranty expires but you're getting out of it in 4 years so it won't apply to you anyway. There are also 4 times as many Freightliner dealers to Kenworths, and my local one is good and treats me well.
Never mind about hills, your driving a 450hp fleet spec truck with the ecu tuned for economy, neither has more pulling power in the real world, and if they did it would cost dollars in fuel to release it. Just get to the top of the hill 20 seconds later with 50c in your purse, then do it again on every hill on your trip. You'll be a few miles behind the fast boys at the end of the day but you'll have a heavy rattly handbag.

That's 2 votes for the evo and 0 for the kenworth so far. Thank you for your input. My experience with an auto was a 2013 Volvo and I hated it but the technology was new and it was after all a Volvo so maybe the evo 12 would be a better experience. Your point regarding the availability of qualified shops is valid and compelling.
Responding also to what Dave said about fixing for less is also valid. I've got a mechanic friend who could have slapped those parts on in his transmission shop after hours. He can fix anything and he rarely charges me for labor. its just that I was constrained by the leasing company to seek warrantee work when possible. Not to mention they were holding my maintenance escrow hostage.
My intention was to build my own funds for repairs and only use what they held for routine maintenance but I was bled dry before I could even get off the ground.
A brand new truck should be ok with routine maintenance so that issue goes away. Besides it will be under factory warrantee not selectruck.
One other thought..I've also driven a couple of good old long nose Petes and there's nothing like them even though I look like a tiny wizened mouse peering over that giant hood.

What will your weekly payment be on a new truck?

$630. That's $100 a week more than I am paying for the heap I'm in now.

Indeed that's a no brainer. I read your whole thread and will be following and rooting for you.

What do you like about being a L/O versus a company driver?

Dont forget the extra insurance cost. Not trying to tell you not to do it, just pointing out its gonna cost more than simply an extra 100 bucks in payment. Make sure you factor that extra cost in. Take whatever you are paying for physical damage now, and extrapolate it out for the difference in truck value. So say the current truck had a book value of 50k and the new one is valued at 150k, insurance will cost you 3 times as much.

I will be sure to check that but I am currently under JB insurance including bobtail and occ first glance at offer same price. Atbs at discount rather than free but I'll probably keep them. They used to do a much better job though. Pretty disappointed with service may look for better bookkeeper.
