They're starting to call me "Darlin'" at the truck shop now. Especially after I responded to them finding yet another repair by saying, " Oh! I just feel like crying." I was sincere but that will terrify any southern male.

Reason for edit: CorrectionCat sdp and Wickedfire77 Thank this. -
I’ll find out tomorrow if I can be unloaded on Saturday or Monday. This will dictate if we have a burrito, and when.
UturnGirl Thanks this. -
UTG....you seem to have the special gift. The gift of percerveriance. Hang in there. It will either get easier or harder. Either way we are rooting for you. Pretty sure you have the bases covered. Lol.
God speed. #### the torpedoes. -
It's just too much bs with stuff that should be fixed in hours to me.
I can't really picture you beating the snot out of that truck in such a fashion that all this is happening.
I hate warranties except for big ticket items, and you're the living example of why.
When I picked my truck up at Freightliner, it came with all new rubber, some stooge didn’t tighten all the lugs on the passenger side steer.
Wheel is literally falling off.
So I get it torqued down. But rim is wasted, hub is wasted.
I call and MF Freightliner of Arizona for the Criminally Insane. But I run. Wheel seal is ok, bearing is ok.
I get my man in Phoenix to come to me, he uses a used hub, used rim ( aluminum ), start to finish about 1 hour.
Sammy thanks man, what do I owe you?
$150.
Here's $300, call you later.
It's working fine almost 100,000 miles later.
I mean, I'm getting in "Just Wow" mode over your truck.
I'm not sure if you're over reacting to some of its issues, that could be saved up for when you get home.
I am 100% certain that these mechanics you are dealing with are taking you for a ride.
I mean when Sammy does a PM, he inspects the truck, and he tells me when something is coming.
I had a slack adjuster go bad, they don't kinda go bad, they work or they don't.
$100 installed, 20 minutes.
He did the brakes on my front drive axle in 28 minutes start to finish with his mobile rig. $175.
Dude at the alignment shop. 3 axle and tire rotation $190. 2 hours.
You're into this thing for thousands and thousands with no major work.
Oh I spent like $400 on the apu too. The rest is PM's and filters.
I PM every 20K and only use Fleetgaurd filters. Mobile 15/40 CK4, that adds some money.
But all this stuff is minutes, hours, not weeks.
This is just MADNESS with you and this frigging truck.RERM, spyder7723 and UturnGirl Thank this. -
The things that are being repaired are legitimately broken. The truck was abused and neglected before I got it and has a bad case of rust corrosion. I was one week into it when I realized the severity of it. Rust is pervasive and alive. Bcl made a deal with JB to provide refurbished solid trucks that were thoroughly gone through and all this stuff done already..like shocks and seals and brakes etc etc. Not only did bcl not do that. All they did was slap new rubber and brake shoes on it..and hit it with paint to disguise the rust. This clunker should never have been in the mix and they knew it.
The repairs I had done and paid for up front were as you illustrated above. For example. New shocks a tire and alignment dropped off at 17:00 picked up next morning 10:00.
The stuff I had to take to freightliner and get bcl to pay out of my escrow...
a day or two to get in.
another day to get estimate. another day or two for bcl to approve.
Another day to repair.
another 6 or 7 hrs for bcl to actually choke up the payment.
The current situation bcl is being required to pay out of their own pocket not mine thanks to pressure from Jb. I told this shop not to let this truck go until they had freakin' fixed everything that was broken while bcl pockets were open. But the repairs have to be made in stages..A must be fixed before B can be fixed before C can be discovered. And each step of the journey bcl insists on doing their little dance. Estimate, photos, justification, wrestle with selectruck to see if warrantee can be found. Whilst I sit.
At least I'm in a motel that Jb is paying for out of their own pocket. This could be worse.
At this point I'm praying that bcl give up on their lemon and let me the hell out of the lease but the dance goes on. Everyday we are told just one more repair and then something else appears and the cycle repeats.
Very soon I am going to be at a point where I say. Enough! But by allowing it to play out I can do it with JB blessing. I either drive this truck away or get into that new truck lease I talked about through JB. I would have done it 3 days ago if bcl hadnt schmoozed Jb into giving them another shot at salvaging this mess.
And so..the band plays on.
It is understood, with Jb's blessing, that if I do get back into this truck..the next breakdown of this nature I am walking away from the truck. Period.Milr72, T.Rucker, 88 Alpha and 1 other person Thank this. -
