I'm pretty sure Snuffy (the driver who leased this for first 60k and got fired) already fooled with it. Otherwise it wouldn't go so fast at top speed as to outstrip the speedometer.

Idk. Sounds like it's healthy but was for some reason specd to break the land speed record on the Salt Flats. I'm also inclined to think you may have a great big ole right foot. Lol. Give it some time. You will figure the truck out. They are all different.

Look on the rating plate in the drivers side door frame. What is the rear end ratio?

Those are pretty tall gears. I don't recall you having what I would call hills around that part of the country anyway.

That's why it will go so fast also.

Cummins you gotta get up around 1500 or 1600 to get in the power band.

Drop her in 7th or 8th and go for what you know.

Pretty ure that tranny is convertible to 13 speed pretty easily,. I would look into it.. it would sure help being able to split the gears on a truck with legs..

I believe the C stands for convertible and a RTOC already have everything there for a easy conversion. Less than a thousand dollars? I would say 500 but nothing costs 500 anymore.

It is some due to learning this transmission...but they love to send me into Pennsylvania and southern Virginia. It rolls pretty nicely in the midwest even with 45k on. I guess I'll stop whining. But you know after that last truck I'm skittish about everything!

Just get a head of steam up.

The good fix, which JB is never gonna let you do, is convert the tranny to a 13.

It's built as a 13, just not plumbed that, it's a simple conversion.
They typically convert them when they are going to sell them off.
    Not all, but the majority.
If I'm near gross like you are, I'm probably down in 8th or 7th on BIG hills out here, but that I-81, I-79, I-68 stuff, get her rolling down and mash that go pedal before you even start going back up.
