Spyder..I'm an in between lease operator / owner operator. I don't have enough information to know what's really available vs all the associated costs with being 100% independent. So I don't know how the rates stack up. Popular opinion is jb rates are about average.
I'm at the end of my working life so I'm satisfied to take a little less in exchange for the safety net Jb offers.
On the other hand..I saw a company driver's settlements and I'm doing considerably better after everything including taxes are paid.

Don't get me started on Christmas... I have 6 granddaughters. And 4 have birthdays within 2 weeks of each other. I melt down over that gift giving event!

Depending on their ages, the dollar store can be your friend.
Up to about 8 or so, it's not about the quality, it's about the quantity.

Up until they're about 3, it's about the wrapping paper and the box. They have more fun with that, than what's inside.

But you know what your rates are don't you? I mean don't they tell you the rate when offering you freight?

You would think so but i have found that not to be the case. After the first year they start developing likes for specific type of things. My son is only two and has been going crazy for anything with wheels since he was about 18 months old. Especially when it comes to characters from the cars movies.

Yes. Averages $2 a mile unless going someplace gnarly then it can get higher.

5 are in college. I just give em all cash...one size fits all but you can't pick up something cool and expensive looking on the cheap that way.
