background checks and bankruptcy

    The economy has had a very negative affect on my real estate business and is forcing me to make a decission about filing bankruptcy.

    As I am exploring driving as a career option at this point in my life my concern is how a bankruptcy might affect my employment. Does any one have any insight as to how this may affect me?

    Are there any sources I might be able to check into this?

    Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Don't attempt to go work for the Government though.. I tested for CBP and aced everything, then because of a bankruptcy pending I was denied due to "financial irresponsibility".. I guess I should just go work in the White house, they don't do background checks apparently..
