    i have 3 midemeanors on my record shoplifting , possession of marijauna and bad check for $13.00. the bad check is from 2009 which im not having a problem with but the marijauna is killing me . my question is it is from when i was 18 im now 32 which as you can see is 14 years old and the shoplifting is just as old . my question is should i even list these on the apps when i fill these out i mean do they even look that far back because there are alot of companies that are zero tolerance when it comes to drugs and it is hurting me what do you guys think ,,,thanks in advance

    I would say list if it says "ever" when asked on the app & put the year in too....If they are just old misdemeanors over 10 years old I wouldnt worry too much about it just be honest..

    no its not that i want to lie its just some companies havent even been calling me back and when i call them they tell me its because of drug charge i listed on app they said it didnt matter the age and some im not getting in contact with at all i mean dang i was 18 it was a very small amount and the worst part it wasnt even mine the guy i was riding with wouldnt admit to it so we both got charged im just wondering do they go back over 10 years on background or not if anyone knows i would appreciate it i have been out of work for 2 months and im havent drove for 5 years and im trying to get on with a starter company i live in south georgia and i cant find a job anywhere and i need to go to work before me and my family is homeless i'm a very hard worker just looking for a chance to make some money to support my family

    i have 15 to 17 misdemeanors from 12 years ago. i wen't to jail 2 times. i have never said anything about them.. i just got my crime and driven report it said i was cleen pepsi dose a full backgrand as well and when i worked for them nothen came up i don't know it may not be good to lie about it but.. if your not geting jobs.. you got to do what ya got to do. and even the job i have now did a background check and they have came back clean

    cool that is proba;y what i will do i just dont want to get way the hell off from home and get sent packing for something i didnt list on app but i have no choice if no one will call

    Say nothing and see if they find it. If they do your done. If they don't your employed. If you admit it your done automatically. What do you have to lose? A job you don't have?

    Read the application. If it says EVER then write it down. If it has a 10 year go back to then don't volunteer the info BUT Hire Right to make a few bucks off us WILL go back as far as they can and if they find "something" from way back when those bottom feeders WILL forward that info to every company you apply to.

    ya i don't know most jobs will run your report before you can start anyhow.. so i would not bother putting anything down. i have not had a problem yet.

    I thought companies were not allowed to go past 10 years. Some only go back 3-7 years some 10 but never known of any to search past that. Only thing I get asked to go back 10 years is employment and thats only for DOT purposes.
