After all I've read here I was really expecting backing the trailer to be tough but yesterday was the first time I ever drove a big rig, or anything with a trailer on it, and I found backing to be VERY easy!...I drove around our yard for hours hitting lanes from every angle I could put myself at and today we did parallel parking and nailed it on the first and all subsequent, shots, I LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!!! Tomorrow we go out on the road, can't wait!!!!!!
Backing a trailer is a no-brainer breeze!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL... LOL... Ok that's fantastic. I hope you do just as well backing into a dock off a street in Chinatown in Manhattan.
outerspacehillbilly Thanks this. -
kinda was thinking the same thing--maybe he is a worlds greatest backer--i mean he can paralell park --and that is something you use every----------ok never

That kind of attitude is how accidents happen. I remember super trucker from school his words were, "I can do anything backing is a so easy, why are you guys still out here do you need some pointers." 3rd day on road with his new job $12,000 damage to a Pilot fuel island. Backing in a yard to real life truck stop or customer docks. Backing while facing north with the dock you need to hit facing south so you have to make a full U to make it.
I wish you luck I would suggest dropping the ####iness before it bites you in the butt. Plus that attitude will not make you many friends either. -
Pittsburgh side alley docks are fun too. Love all the traffic AND the cars parked on both sides of the street. Oh yeah, tandems in about hmmm hole 11ish or so...

setting a trailer to the dock is easy, as long as you have good setup.
Whats fun is backing into BJ's Costco in Philadelphia in glaring sun and you need to put your trailer into a dimly lit overhang and you cant see worth a hoot from the glare of the sun.Schmidtrock Thanks this. -
i just love backing into the places that look like the black hole of calcutta--doesnt matter if you take off your sunblasses or not cause you cantt see a #### thing back there--just a big black hole

Then you have Key Foods in Brooklyn that has inside docks with cement pillars on both sides and you back in off the street. Then you have the caves near St.Louis so you better keep an eye on your maneuvering around the rock walls. Downtown Philly is another circus all-together with the very nice 4 wheelers who like to test their horns and not give you an inch. And we're not even talking about the snow yet.

A guy from my school sounded just like this. A few more days of practice and he turned into the worst backer and failed the backing skills test 2 times before finally passing. He has also been in 2 accidents now on the road, overconfidence can really hurt you especially when you get arrogant about it like this guy seems to be. I want everyone to succeed but maybe it would be better if you quit now before hurting someone.
Everett Thanks this.
