Some times it just happens. You just can't back for schidt. Didn't happen often to me, but it DID happen. And ALWAYS when someone at the customer was watching.

I used to just laugh about it and tell them it was my "imitation of a snake.":biggrin_2559:

I have been driving for over 4 years now but I am not a good backer and probably never will be. But I don't get upset with myself anymore... as long as I don't hit anything and get the end of the trailer at the dock so they can load/unload it, that's fine. I don't worry as much as I used to and don't get so concerned about others watching me. And believe me, they watch....:biggrin_2554: I am a little skinny lady and I think that attracts their attention even more.... :biggrin_2558: But I've been getting better at ignoring them and focusing on my backing. :yes2557: And actually I think I'm getting better... This is a place I had to go the other day, it wasn't as hard as you, experts and masters in backing are used to, but it wasn't the easiest either... It was inside a dark building. But I didn't take much time to back, did it with one pull up and was almost perfect! I was happy!! That made my day!! :yes2557:

Rocks, it is always a tough job, (not to mention dangerous,) when you have to back into a dark building out of bright sunlight. Even worse if there is snow on the ground with a bright sun reflecting off it. Even when it is just a "straight in back," there is a point at which you are "backing completely blind." Don't ever be afraid to ask somebody to spot for you, in a situation like that.

It is also a good idea to stop the truck and walk into where you are going to be backing, so that you KNOW what is there first.

I still use 'right to find left to lose' sometimes. Thanks to whoever posted that long ago.

Ever been to the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta? Got sent there in my first months as a driver. Not sure how I did it, but I got it in there.

The other day I back to this dock... it wasn't tight at all but had to maneuver in the middle of the street with some traffic going both ways....Some folks from the business came outside to watch and help, which was very nice... I didn't take long and did a good job. I think I am learning this thing...:biggrin_25519:[IMG] [IMG]
