Theses are all very reasonable points you've made. They are mostly all the thoughts I had going through my mind and why I originally made the thread and in the end decided to just keep my mouth shut.
Well.... Unfortunately... in the end the driver just turned out to be a jack ###. I'm not really sure what happened or what he was thinking but he was booted to the end of the line and I was put on the dock by 0505 without ever saying a word to anyone. I don't know if or when the driver had an appointment but the Consig clearly wanted the onions I had on at my scheduled appointment time.
BTW, you play the Devi's advocate role well!![]()

My opinion is the other driver was wrong. He should have waited if he knew it was first come first served. If it was by appt. how did he know his appt. was before you? If he didn't know how it worked he should have waited. Want respect? Show Respect.
hunts2much Thanks this. -
He will probably continue to get the boot wherever he goes. This is definitely an industry of flavors that's for sure!
That's what this site is for. Get it out, have a chuckle, go about your day!

first of all, you do not know if that driver was a regular there and has an open appointment. he may have JIT freight or he just has permission to go to the doors. he may also be the driver for the company.......and they WILL take his stuff off first....!!!!!! as an example, try being a driver for Shaw's markets, and wait for another company driver to be unloaded before him........ain't gonna happen..........
now, did YOU think to call the company and ask if they wanted YOU in the door or in the yard.......if you got there early....?? probably not.
whenever i was making a delivery, and getting there early, i always asked where they wanted me to park my rig.
as another poster said, they may HAVE to unload his truck first.
you ain't got nothing to complain about, as you do not know the circumstances of him being there. -
