The guy was a no life, no friends jack ###, with a little more experience than you. :)

Always protect the dock at them small open places. You snooze, you lose with todays selfish drivers. Old school days he would of got his ### kicked.

An appt can be the open time of the receiver and ten trucks show up with an 0500.

Exactly! You get point, it should be a no brainer. You aren't first in line so why did you back up to the dock? No respect.

Onions! :biggrin_2559: I was behind an onion truck at a construction zone once (stop and go, stop and go) and of course I could smell them and all I could think about for miles was pulling off somewhere and ordering a burger smothered in onions. But I had a hot load and I couldn't stop. After I was empty I scarfed two burgers with onion. Lots of onion; I may have overdone it. As soon as I was through with the second one, I got a load assignment (picked up two miles from where I was, all happy and reeking of onions--my breath probably could have knocked a buzzard off a septic pumper, and I guess I could have knocked a few guys off a dock). I scarfed two packs of breath mints and saved the day. Anyway, I like onions and I appreciate the people who haul them.

Wasn't tryin' to be Devil's advocate, just sort of mumbling before coffee this morning (but thanks; I didn't mean to be harsh). I'm glad things worked out for you. Safe trip.

I explained myself, your upset about about the Door Swing'n thing. Your strike me as the type who would do exactly what the OP brought up. Ya wanna know why I think that way? You had an excuse/reason of why it was ok or could be ok. Its a respect thing-some thing thats old school. Respect.

This was the very thing that kept my mouth shut. At the time I couldn't be certain of that one little fact.

I ALWAYS call the ship/rec ahead of time and ask if they have over night parking as I will always park on site over a T/S or R/A if at all possible. I also always ask where they want me to park. If they say bump the dock I do just that, if they say anything else I WOULDN'T EVEN CONSIDER making the decision on my own to park in their dock.

what you FAIL to understand that the other driver could have had a standing door waiting for him. NO ONE KNOWS, except the warehouse he was at. IT IS NOT about respect and waiting in line, as technically, there was NO LINE.

the o/p should have called ahead and asked where to park the trailer, and then park where told.

the "other driver" could have been a company driver where HE DOES get to park at the door. you sir, are an arse, as YOU do not know all the circumstances involved. it is NOT respect, the o/p was parked AWAY from the dock in such a way that the doors to the warehouse were "open".......how do YOU KNOW what the warehouse has as a procedure.........?? YOU DON'T..........

it goes to the driver, to call ahead of time and ask where they want him to park.

if he fails to do this, and there is NO particular procedure, then the driver should NOT back up to any doors. how is anyone to even know if the particular door isn't broken........???

you sir must have done Hunt's Point deliveries, where asking another driver who's next in line, comes into play..........but for this one, you are way off base with your "respect 'tude"

oh yeah, this poster......ac120...........basically said the same as i, but you don't say two friggin words about HIS post.........??

you HAVE SHOWN, you are an ARSE.............

There's a place in MN I go to I learned my lesson. I pulled in the parking lot the night before and I was the only truck. I pulled out of the way to the right. When I woke up an hour before delivery there was about 8 more trucks there lined up beside me to the left.
Rule goes there they unload the trucks from left to right. S.O.B. I was the last one out of there.
The next time I went there I got that left parking spot. You live and learn.
