Thank you, I've been reading this forum for months, I've read about every CDL school offering a job, I know CR England is bottom of the barrel, but with a terrible string of unemployment, they seem to not care the most lol.

Honestly for me, I have psoriatic arthritis and can't stand the medication I'm prescribed for it, makes me shake when I try to lay down to sleep, being a pothead who self medicated with marijuana in my teens, found it was a proper alternative to ease my ailments. It's just a SUPER dumbed down version of weed, I don't like weed lol

You can work at any of a thousand or five thousand companies if you don't have a failed/refused drug test. All five thousand other trucking companies will be MUCH better than CR England. Get off of everything that isn't food or sold over the grocery store counter. The people selling dope or paraphernalia don't care if you ever work again. Only you care enough about YOUR future and you should not turn that over to anyone. You need to look out for you, not walk around like a innocent lamb in the wolf pen. Half of the companies that hire newbies pay Tuition Reimbursement to new drivers to pay for CDL school. Rushing into this industry is the single most harmful thing you can do to reach a good outcome, beside failing a drug test. Find a good company to work for, better than the other companies you look at and then decide about school, even if you are flat broke. Money for CDL Training

stop taking pharmaceutical advice from gas stations. I can sell sawdust pills to you and claim the exact thing you think this stuff is doing for you and break no laws. All any over the counter stuff has to be is non-toxic, nothing else. That whole industry is exempt from regulations. There are more regulations on bubble gum than anything sold OTC. Even if it was federally legal, that doesn't mean the FMCSA or some other part of the govt would accept it for their purpose. The world does not have to make sense or be "reasonable" to anyone but a judge, if he is in the right mood. For the love of God, if you don't protect yourself nobody will be able to help you.

I appreciate everyone's replies, thank you very much. As far as I've collected, there's not going to be any negative consequences to turning down my offer to be transported to CR England to
I appreciate you, to be clear, the only drugs ive ever done were marijuana 10+ years ago, and recently the legal variant delta 8, and have been sober for 4 months, I don't even drink soda. it holds absolutely no importance in my life and I'm determined to make this my career. I haven't been rushing in, over the last 4 months I've read the entire CDL handbook 7 times, researched for weeks on end, consulted current drivers, and simply saw CR England as the absolute easiest entry despite the thousands of warnings to steer away from them.

This is why I made this post, to ensure my exit from the offer provided by CR England wouldn't have long term negative effects, consulting with more experienced people before making a decision.

Thank you, a few more months of staying clean and I'll hit up some of the better carriers.

Oh I understand, my reasoning behind my decision was because of my psoriatic arthritis medication causing spasms during attempts at sleeping, delta 8 provided relief without the negative side effects delivered from the prescription medication. I've decided to just deal with it, and I'm glad I no longer use gas station drugs lol, they provide 0 high, just helps with sedation. I appreciate you.

The Feds in trucking don't care if weed or the other stuff cures cancer and makes us all rich. Their drug test is more important to them than perpetual happiness and free diesel for everyone else. Hanging around people that use is not a good way to not use.

Lmao you're missing the point where I don't do drugs, I was just clueless that delta 8 turned up on a drug test, I havent been high or drunk since 2012 lol. I understand where you're coming from though, the career is worth more than any relaxation or self medicating.

Starting with CR England is almost certainly going to turn you into one of the 80-90% of new CDL holders that leaves the industry for good before even 1 year of expierence. Imagine any problems you have now, but also owing CR England for CDL school because they treated you so poorly that you quit. Over half of their drivers have less than 1 year experience. Any trainer you would have had is likely to have only 1-2 month more experience than you have. He will have almost nothing to teach you and the training period a your first company is where you learn 90% of this job. Even starting at a great company that treats you like a movie star this job will be hard enough and you will think about quitting. You will feel lonely, you won't know what to do in a situation you were never properly trained for and you have someone yelling at you to hurry up and do something. A company like CR England that hires several thousand drivers per years to replace the several thousand drivers that quite every year will not put any time into taking care of what they assume is a disposable employee number.

The research you need to do is research trucking companies. The CDL manual and the skills go ahead and assume you will learn them. Almost every one learns them. The trucking company atmosphere and equipment and schedule is what makes your first years almost imposssible, pretty bad, OK, not too bad, kind nice, or why didn't I do this years ago. Trucking companies are not doing you a favor, they are getting a heck of a bargain hiring newbies for the cost of CDL school or much much less. Think about whether you need to be home daily, want to stay out for one week at a time or can be away from home for several weeks and then be home for almost a week. If you can do physical work like hustling frozen freight into restaurants or beverages into convenience stores and bars you can both be home daily and make over $1k per week.

@Chinatown is our resident expert and knows so many companies and has provided leads to so many newbies and vets looking for ANY job, a better job, or a change of jobs. He'll need to know your town and state and he'll have options. Stop thinking you are some lost cause deserving of whatever someone decides they don't want anymore. Almost EVERY trucking company is hiring.
